Frequently asked questions

Start with the questions most families ask.

The new website brings essential information out of a PDF and into a searchable, mobile-friendly guide.

Who is RMHC for?

Rocky Mountain Honors Camp is a Christian summer camp for qualified middle school and high school students. Campers entering grades 6–8 are in the middle school division; campers entering grade 9 or higher are in the high school division.

Is this an Awana camp?

No. RMHC is an independent nonprofit ministry. Camp eligibility has historically used Awana handbook achievement requirements, but RMHC is not operated by or legally connected with Awana Clubs International.

Where is camp held?

Camp is hosted at Ponderosa Retreat and Conference Center in Larkspur, Colorado.

What happens during the week?

Campers participate in Bible Hour, Scripture memory, evening chapel, worship, team competition, all-camp games, recreation, meals, and time with friends and leaders.

What does camp cost?

The board is preparing the next season’s pricing. RMHC intentionally charges families less than the full cost of operating camp, with donors, churches, and businesses helping cover the difference.

What forms are required?

The current registration packet typically includes a camper application, physical form, health information, general information, code of conduct, dress code, and parental consent materials. Current-year documents will be posted before registration opens.

How are staff members screened?

Staff must be committed followers of Jesus, faithfully attend a local church, pass a required background check, and review the camp’s child protection expectations.

Can someone help determine eligibility?

Yes. Send the camper’s entering grade, age on the first day of camp, Awana program, current handbook, and completed requirements through the contact form.

How can I support a camper?

Donations help RMHC keep camper fees below the actual cost of a week of camp. Churches also often help families through local fundraising or sponsorship.

How do I receive next-season updates?

Use the contact form and choose Registration updates. The camp team can follow up when dates, pricing, forms, and registration are ready.
